Q: How long has the Center been in existence?
A: Established in 2004, the founder Amicitia Maloon-Gibson collaborated with a coalition of community, Faith-Based and education advisory board members - The collaboration resulted in the founding of the center to serve local communities of low-socio economic. (2003 name change from ATIC to current name).

Q: What is the service or focus of the MG Center For Excellence?
A: The goal of the program focus on improving the community and educational development programs for at-risk-youth, minorities and low-income families through quality education. To educate, empower and encourage Youth to excel. Prepare Youth for future leadership within the community and worldwide. Building community low-income quality housing for the "at-risk-elderly. We support international youth orphanages and groups with educational tools.

Q: What programs are available through the MG Center For Excellence?
The MG has Project: FLAST: Foundational Links For Academics, Science and Technology. This is an academic foundation designed to improve educational preparation and motivation of students who are at-risk through tutoring intervention, leadership development, character education, computer technology and mentoring services during evening hours and during the critical after-school hours. Other services include college career seminars and Faith Based and community development programs. See our website for listings at

Q: How many children has the Center served through its programs?
A: The ATIC & MG Center for Excellence during its tenure has provided over 2100 student contact hours. The ATIC & MG Center For Excellence is providing outreach to community centers, local schools, ministries and other local agencies in an effort to get volunteers, mentors and support. International outreach mission to Aruba Orphan, Haitian Orphan and Hand of Hope World Missions.

Q: Which populations are served  through the Center?
A: The ATIC & MG Center for Excellence has services to students who are improving the community and educational development programs for at-risk-youth, minorities and low-income families. If we help a child we help the family unit or "village" and our community and society. Saving our Youth is Key to the Future. International support to Aruba, Haiti and Hand of Hope World Missions.

Q: Is the Center funded by the United Way?
A: No.

Q: What is the Center's primary source of funding?
A: The ATIC & MG Center financial support is from donations, private individuals, grants, foundations and in-kind contributions from other corporations and government agencies. Future plans to host and annual fundraiser (2009) for scholarships provided to graduating high school youth.

Q: What is the money used for?
A: Most of the funding will be used for teaching and training supplies, for youth, full-time educator's stipends, and training. Additionally, a portion of funds is allocated for educational scholarships, cultural arts, music and religious cultural training, science tools and other educational tours for missions, exchange students and to institutes of Higher Learning and summer programs.  Note: We have a separate funding venue for construction of an educational and growth development Edifice. Foundations and donators can purchase a room (s) to name in honor of a family member (approval of Executive Board required). Call the director for additional information at (321) 537- 5002. Construction to begin in 2009.

We appreciate in-kind donations of land or existing real estate that can support this project. Computers (lap top 2007 and beyond), Arts tools and easels and musical instruments needed for students. Also, donations of new commercial kitchen appliances and musical instruments are on our wish lish. We are in phase II of procurement of a permanent educational and growth development Edifice.
